The following error message appears when running the Configuration Wizard during an installation or an upgrade of a module:

Website Configuration Failed: Attempted to perform an unauthorized operation.

ERROR ConfigurationProgressScene - Exception while configuring plugins.

Cause

An Antivirus program is preventing the Configuration Wizard from setting and creating the registry key. This can be verified from the Configuration Wizard logs. 

Resolution

  1. Disable or uninstall any active Antivirus programs or applications.
  2. Install or upgrade the SAM/NPM/Orion module needed. 
  3. Complete the Configuration Wizard. See Run the Orion Configuration wizard  for more information. 
  4. Enable or re-install the Antivirus programs or applications.

You should be able to complete the Configuration Wizard without the above error.
