Update the SEM License

Update the license when there has been a license change or when maintenance is renewed for Security Event Manager (formerly Log & Event Manager).

Resolution

  1. Log in to the SolarWinds Customer Portal.
  2. On the Customer Portal menu bar, navigate to Licenses > Manage Licenses.

  1. Find Security Event Manager (formerly LEM), and then click to expand it.
  2. Copy the activation key.

  1. In the SEM Events Console, click the Settings button.

  2. On the Settings page, click the Manage License tab, and then click Update License.
  3. Paste the key into the License Key field.
  4. If necessary, modify or add the information in the given fields.
  5. Click Activate. You should get a message confirming that activation is successful.

    If your product version is older than SEM 6.7, navigate to Manage > Appliances to update the license in the SEM Flash console.
