Feature improvement for Website performance

Resolution

This is a new improvement introduced in the Orion platform 2020.2:

  • SolarWinds Platform deploys WebsiteMaintenance.exe as a part of the daily maintenance, which performs an IIS application pool reset and fully loads the summary page as a system user.
  • The Administration service plugin executes this WebsiteMaintenance.exe during the maintenance window.
  • This task applies to both the main engine and all additional websites.
  • If running on HA primary poller backup, the executable will perform a check and exit.
  • This operation will take up to a few minutes, depending on the environment.

Note: As the WebsiteMaintenance.exe is dependent on the time of the database maintenance schedule, changing the database maintenance schedule would need a restart for the Administration Services for Orion to align the Website Maintenance to the Database Maintenance execution
