SCCM does not synchronize with WSUS/SUP updates

This article addresses an issue that prevents some software packages from displaying correctly in the Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) Console after you synchronize WSUS/SUP with SCCM.

Overview

Packages publish and display correctly in WSUS. When you synchronize WSUS/SUP and Microsoft® System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), some packages do not display in the SCCM console.

Cause

  • You have not created a custom search folder for the updates.
  • You have not created a full synchronization.
  • The product is not synchronized between WSUS and SCCM.

Resolution

Perform one or all of the following procedures.
 

Create a custom search

If you are using SCCM 1902 or later, create a new search for the vendor.

  1. In the navigation pane, click Software Library.
  2. In the Software Library navigation pane, expand Software Updates.
  3. Under Software Updates, select All Software Updates.
  4. Create a new search for the vendor.

Ensure that the product is selected in the Products list

  1. Log in to SCCM.
  2. In the navigation pane, click Administration.
  3. In the Administration navigation pane, expand Site Configuration and select Sites. 
  4. In the toolbar, click Settings > Configure Site Components and select Software Update Point.
  5. Click the Products tab.
  6. Select the products you want to synchronize between WSUS and SCCM, and then click OK. 

Perform a full synchronization

  1. Log in to SCCM as an administrator.
  2. In the navigation pane, click Administration.
  3. In the Administration navigation pane, expand Site Components and select Sites.
  4. In the toolbar, click Settings > Configure Site Components and select Software Update Point.
  5. Click the Classifications tab.
  6. Change a classification, and then click OK.
  7. In the toolbar, click Settings > Configure Site Components and select Software Update Point.
  8. Reselect the correct classification, and then click OK. This will initiate a full synchronization.
