Record Remote Session on DRE Tech Console
This article aims to inform DRE techs and admin about the Video Recording functionality included in the DRE Desktop Console.

The DRE tech console has a video recording feature that was designed to manage DRE Techs individually to help conserve network resources particularly network bandwidth and storage. It is disabled by default to avoid potential high network latency and lag issues.

- Log in to the DRE Web admin page as an Admin.
- Go to Management > Technician > Permission Groups Tab > Select the Permission Group applied for the Technician > Edit Group
- Under "Key Permissions and Defaults", check the settings for "Define the video recording settings for this Technician" .
Disabled - Tech cannot do a recording while in a remote session
Off by default - Tech can do a recording while in a remote session, but the recording button needs to be triggered to start.
On by default - Recording starts as the remote session started.
Always on - Tech cannot turn off recording while in a remote session.
- To trigger remote meeting recording > Remote to a machine, then look at the Video Recording Status Icon and Click it to start recording.
Blank means the Video is not recording
Red means the Video is recording
- Change the video storage location to your preference by following the illustration below. The default location of the recorded session is C:\Users\[USER]\AppData\Local\Dameware Remote Everywhere\FLV
- Setting to change saved location is only available when a remote session is in progress.
