Overview

Unable to poll information in Pure Storage Array using your NPM web console or UNDP.

Resolution

PureStorage does not support standard OIDs. This prevents us from polling the node via SNMP. Since the node is not being polled via SNMP, you can try to use UNDP to capture the OIDs available if you are going to query the device via SNMP walk.

Please check thwack.com and search for "Pure storage monitoring Orion" - you may find some other customers trying to monitor via SNMP and what they might have done.

However as I said on the phone, this will only provide very basic monitoring capabilities at host level - you won't be able to pull Detailed storage related stats - likes IOPS's/ LUN's storage allocation and Hardware health.

Here are some links you may want to check what stats you will get if you have SRM

Having said that, Solarwinds do support monitoring this via SRM product

Pure Storage arrays are monitored through a combination of an onboard SMI-S Provider and REST APIs.

For information on enabling, see the Enable a Pure provider knowledge base article.

After the array is enabled, you can begin monitoring as described in Add your storage array for monitoring with SRM.
