NCM Core installation log files details and location

The following log files are available by default in the indicated locations for all installations NCM jobs and polling of SolarWinds products that are built on the Orion Core Platform.

Where i can see NCM Jobs activity in details ?

You can find the Logs under following location where you can check and track the NCM jobs activity if there is any Error there can be tracked.

You may wanted to see the logs in case of NCM Job failure / success / Errors in details while running any NCM job

Firstly install the Kiwi Log Viewer on the NCM Server (All Pollers )

View live Orion log activity Kiwi Log Viewer

Where i can see NCM Jobs activity in details ?

You can find the Logs under following location where you can check and track the NCM jobs activity if there is any Error there can be tracked.

C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\Logs\Orion\NCM

NCM.Collector.Jobs

Where i can see NCM inventory Job activity logs ?

C:\ProgramData\Solarwinds\Logs\Orion\NCM\Logging

and you will find two types of logs (General.log ) (This log file will contain live activity what you have on the inventory job )

You will also see the Job logs on same folder where it will show you the remaining nodes processing by the Inventory Job

Which file should I monitor to see which router/switch NCM has backed up, or is trying to backup ?

You can enable Session Trace option (Settings > All Settings > CLI Settings > Enable

Then run the Job > and There you can see Session Trace for Each Node Job is downloading and progress.

For Modules Solarwinds Business Layer Host Verify all Modules are UP and running

The last line shows the service status: INFO SolarWinds.BusinessLayerHost.BusinessLayerHostService - All plugins started
