Monitor VPN user connection sessions in NPM

Make a widget, alert or report showing the total amount of users connected through a VPN device.

Overview

This article goes over how to monitor the amount of total active users connected to a VPN and how this can be made into an alert or report.

This is often used to monitor employee connections to an internal business network while they are working from home.

While widgets that monitor real-time VPN user connections can be turned into reports, these reports are not historical and no options in alerting currently exist to keep track of the VPN user session amount.

Currently, alerts and historical reports for a number of active VPN connections can only be created through a UnDP.
