Overview

If you see the Displayed data is obsolete message it means that no new statistics arrived for the interface for a few subsequent polls. See Why is interface data obsolete? for details.

Product section

Network Performance Monitor

Cause

  • Node or interface is unmanaged
  • Polling issues
  • Target machine does not respond (Network or Firewall issue between poller and end point)
  • MS SQL Server issues

Resolution

Workaround - hide the message

If interface polling is not critical, you can hide the message. It will not resolve the issue, only the message will be hidden for all interfaces.
  1. In your web console, go to Settings > All Settings > Polling Settings.
  2. Under DATABASE SETTINGS, clear the ENABLE/DISABLE INTERFACE DATA OBSOLETE AFTER..... POLLS checkbox.
  3. Click Submit to commit the changes

If the issue still persists, reboot the server.

See Polling settings for more details:
  • Polling Statistics Intervals to learn how to disable the Interface Obsolete message.
  • Database Settings to find out how long interface data is retained in the database.
