Change SEM host name

This article provides steps to change the hostname of SEM.

Overview

When adjusting the hostname of the SEM, you'll need to access the CMC console using the steps below.

Resolution

  1. Create an SSH session to the SEM.
  2. From the CMC prompt enter Appliance command.
  3. From CMC\Appliance prompt enter hostname command. 
  4. Press Enter to confirm.
  5. Type yes when prompted to confirm.
  6. Enter a new host name.

 

Note: These steps will notify all online agents. Any offline agents will need a manual modification of the spop.conf file, a reset of the certificate, or even an uninstall and reinstall. This article goes into further details for this.
