Cause

The Orion database password was changed but was not updated on the APE.

Resolution

Run the Orion Configuration Wizard to refresh Orion files and update the database password.
  1. Log into the APE as a Windows Local Administrator.
  2. Click Start > SolarWinds Orion > Configuration Wizard.
  3. On the Database Settings page of the wizard, provide the latest Orion database password.
  4. Continue in the wizard, and then click Finish to save your changes.
Additional items to check for APEs include:
  • Check if the APE license was activated.
  • In the Orion Web Console, click Settings > All Settings > Polling Engines to verify that the version of the affected APE matches the version of the Main Polling Engine. If the versions do not match, upgrade the APE to match the version of the Main Polling Engine. To upgrade, click Settings > All Settings > Polling Engines. On the Polling Engines page, click Download Installer Now and then launch the Orion Installer. For details, see Scalability Engine Guidelines for SolarWinds products .
  • Check if the APE is using DHCP instead of a static IP address.
