Primary or Additional Polling Engine is polling a deleted node in the Orion Platform

After you delete a node and generate a WinPcap or Wireshark log, the log states that the Orion server polled information on the deleted node. The Orion Web Console does not display the deleted node.

Older versions had a bug with clearing sdf cache.

Clear the Cache 

1. Stop Orion services, as described in Start and stop Orion services.
2. Repair the services on the following systems.
   • Orion servers
   • Additional Polling Engines
   • Additional Web Servers
3. Open the SolarWinds Orion Database Manager.
4. Click Add default server.
5. Right-click Orion Database and select New Query.
6. Enter the following queries:

   -- Scripts are not supported under any SolarWinds support program or service.
   -- Scripts are provided AS IS without warranty of any kind. SolarWinds further
   -- disclaims all warranties including, without limitation, any implied warranties
   -- of merchantability or of fitness for a particular purpose. The risk arising
   -- out of the use or performance of the scripts and documentation stays with you.
   -- In no event shall SolarWinds or anyone else involved in the creation,
   -- production, or delivery of the scripts be liable for any damages whatsoever
   -- (including, without limitation, damages for loss of business profits, business
   -- interruption, loss of business information, or other pecuniary loss) arising
   -- out of the use of or inability to use the scripts or documentation.
   
   Delete From [dbo].[PendingNotifications]
   Delete From [dbo].[SubscriptionTags]
   Delete From [dbo].[Subscriptions]

7. Click Execute query.
8. Start and stop Orion services on the following systems:
   • Orion servers
   • Additional Polling Engines
   • Additional Web Servers

9. On the Orion server, navigate to:
   C:\ProgramData\SolarwWinds\Installers
10. Locate the following .msi(s) (double-click or right-click to uninstall and reinstall):
    • Jobengine (does not exist in newer versions of Orion)
    • Jobenginev2 (file will begin with JOBENGINE) Latest modified file
    • Collector (file will begin with COLLECTOR) Latest modified file
11. Uninstall these services.
12. When finished, reinstall these services.
13. Run the Orion Configuration Wizard to refresh Orion files.
