Repair NCM module

Information on how to repair the NCM module with SolarWinds Orion.

Overview

There are situations where NCM is throwing errors which just surfaces from nowhere. Some of these error came from the environment, such as, Windows Update, etc. Repairing NCM is the easiest way to resolve the issue. However, if the issue is still the same, please create a ticket for Support.

Note: These steps are only valid for SolarWinds Orion Versions 2020.2.6 or Below. Do not repair services if you are on 2022.x or later SolarWinds Platform.

RDP to the Orion Server.
Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features.
Right-click on SolarWinds Orion Network Configuration Manager then click Repair and let it finish.
After repairing NCM, the Configuration Wizard should automatically run. Complete it.

Note:
Repeat these steps across all Orion Servers in the Environment with problematic NCM.

If you are running 2022.x or later SolarWinds Platform, the NCM module is located in the SolarWinds Platform. Repair the SolarWinds Platform or Observability then complete the SolarWinds Configuration Wizard.
