Overview

Once the SSO SAML feature has been enabled in your single organization, this message will appear on the Solarwinds log in page if:
  • Your user profile or email address is tied up to other Solarwinds DevOps products (such as Loggly, Papertrail, Pingdom, or AppOptics), which belong to different organizations where their SSO SAML feature is not enabled.
  • Your user profile or email address is still associated with an organization that does not have an active product or subscription. Currently, your Solarwinds DevOps product or subscription is a separate entity with the organization. If you delete or cancel the product, the association to that organization will still be present.

Cause

You will get this message as expected if your user profile or email address is associated with other organization/s where the SSO SAML feature is not enabled.

Resolution

This message is expected and therefore you will have to undergo an additional local authentication process in order to log in successfully.

In order to identify which organizations are tied to your email address, you will have to authenticate locally from the Solarwinds Common Settings page and click your Profile icon (which can be seen on the upper right side part of the page) and it will show you the names of the organization you are tied with. If you are having problems logging in to the Solarwinds Common Settings page or you simply want us to identify the organizations you are tied with, you can contact us so we can provide this information.

If you wish to completely remove the above message and exclusively authenticate via SSO only, you have these options:
  1. Enable the SSO SAML feature on your other organizations.
  2. If your email address is tied to a different product and organization where the SSO SAML feature is not enabled, you can ask the current Organization owner to remove your user access in the Solarwinds Common Settings page under Users. Please see this documentation on how to remove it.
  3. If you are the Organization Owner and you are not using the product tied to a different organization where the SSO SAML feature is not enabled, we suggest you cancel or delete the account instead. Once you cancel or delete the account or product, the organization associated with the cancelled or deleted product will still be present. If you wish to have that organization removed, please contact us.
