Wireless Summary Page in SolarWinds Platform 2025.2 not loading

The Wireless Summary Page is not loading, or is extremely slow and does not load all widgets.

Overview

The Wireless Summary page executes a SWQL query to load wireless access points by gathering data from multiple entities. In some environments, this query has been observed to slow down significantly, occasionally resulting in a timeout and causing the page to load incompletely.

Cause

In Oxygen 2025.2 the Wireless SWQL query was updated to support IPv6.

Resolution

A fix for this issue is included in SolarWinds Platform 2025.4. It is recommended to upgrade your environment to this version or later to resolve the problem.

 

If upgrading immediately is not possible, you can temporarily mitigate the issue by increasing the SQL command timeout for the Wireless Summary page query:
  1. Log in to the SolarWinds Web Console.
  2. Navigate to the Advanced Configuration page at:
    /orion/admin/advancedconfiguration/global.aspx
  3. Locate the CommandTimeout setting under the Swis.DataProviders.Sql section.
  4. Change the timeout value from the default 30 seconds to 90 seconds.
  5. Save the changes.
Note:
  • After this change, the Wireless Summary page may still load slowly, but wireless data should eventually display without resulting in a blank page.
  • This is a temporary workaround. Once you upgrade to SolarWinds Platform 2025.4 or later, it is recommended to reset the CommandTimeout setting back to its default value.
