Overview

When you implement the "Last Boot has changed" trigger condition, servers running Microsoft Windows Server do not trigger the alert.

Cause

The polling method used on servers running Windows Server is set to ICMP. This polling method does not poll the Sysuptime statistic.

Resolution

  1. Log in to the Orion Web Console as an administrator.
  2. Click Settings > Manage Nodes.
  3. Select the targeted node and click Edit Properties.
  4. Under Polling Method, change the polling method to WMI or Agent.
  5. Enter the Windows credentials, and then click Submit.
The Windows server should now trigger the Last Boot has changed trigger condition.
