Cause

Dramatic changes between Orion Platform versions may impact Windows Pass-Through Authentication.

Resolution

Perform the following steps to re-enable Windows Pass-Through Authentication after the upgrade:
  1. Remove Solarwinds Network Performance Monitor (NetPerfMon) from IIS Manager.
  2. Navigate to C:\Inetpub.
  3. Rename the Solarwinds folder to SolarwindsOld.
  4. Run the Orion Configuration wizard.
    1. Log in to the Orion server as Windows Local Administrator.
    2. Go to Start > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Configuration and Auto-Discovery > Configuration Wizard.
    3. When asked to select Orion components, select Website, and click Next.
    4. In the Website Settings window, select As Unassigned in the IP Address field, specify the port you would like to use to access the Orion Web Console, and select Yes - Enable automatic login using Windows Authentication.
    5. Complete the wizard. Windows Pass-Through Authentication should now be enabled. You can also enable autologin in your web browser Web settings.
