Windows Server 2022 and Windows 11 are incorrect being identified as "Windows 2019 Server" in SolarWinds Platform

This article provides information about the issue of the incorrect Machine Type displayed for the Windows OS for Windows 11 and Windows Server 2022, which appears as Windows 2019 Server.

Overview

Polled nodes using WMI, SNMP, and Agent detected Windows 11 or Windows Server 2022 as Windows 2019 Server in SolarWinds Web Console. The common symptoms and scenarios are the following:

Windows 11 Operating System (OS) displays Machine Type incorrectly as Windows 2019 Server
Widnows Server 2022 Operating System (OS) display Machine Type incorrect as Windows 2019 Server

Cause

This issue occurs because Windows 11 and Windows Server 2022 are not yet supported by SolarWinds Platform.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, please upgrade to SolarWinds Platform 2022.2 and above.
