Product section

Orion Platform

Cause

  • Lack of permissions
  • File is currently in use
  • Someone else is logged in within the server

Resolution

Resolution 1

1. Go to Task Manager on the Orion Server.
2. Find the Agent and the DPI services, and then click End Task (Open Orion Service Manager and Stop Agent service, **Do not disable the service**, only stop the service)
3. Go to IIS Manager, on the server tab, on the right side under Manage Server, click stop
4. Re-run the Configuration Wizard which prompts to start IIS and select Yes, if that doesn't resolve, reboot the server.
5. Re-run the Configuration Wizard.

Resolution 2

All other users need to be logged out and all SolarWinds applications need to be closed:

  1. Open Task Manager.
  2. Go to the Users tab.
  3. Log out any other users other than the account currently being used.
  4. Make sure that no other SolarWinds applications are running (Report Writer etc..).
  5. Run the Configuration Wizard.

Note: In some cases, the SoalrwindsNetPerfmon website can fail to shut down during the Configuration Wizards and can also throw this error.  Make sure all services are stopped, THEN the Configuration Wizard.

Resolution 3

To resolve issue:

    1. Navigate to the PATH in the error.
    2. Copy the file to the desktop.
    3. Try to delete the file from the folder
  • If the file can be deleted, place the copied file from desktop back to the folder and run the configuration wizard.
  • If the file can't be deleted it will generate an error with the service that is holding the file.
  1. Open Task Manager and stop the process.
  2. Delete the file from the folder.
  3. Add the copied file from desktop back to the folder.
  4. Run the Configuration Wizard.
