NCM Website Error: Message: <number> is not a valid value for Int32 when running NCM compliance policy report

This article addresses an issue encountered when attempting to add nodes to an NCM Job or Compliance Policy, where the following error message appears in the web console: Website Error: Message: <number> is not a valid value for Int32 for versions 2023.1, 2025.1, and 2025.2.

You are getting an Error message in NCM web console while managing / editing policy reports: "Unexpected website Error xxxxxx is not a valid value for Int32." 

Version: 2025.1 and 2025.2:

You are experiencing intermittent issues adding and removing policies when creating NCM reports. Refreshing the page may sometimes work, but eventually, you will see the error "Unexpected Website Error 304.6666564941406 is not a valid value for int32."

Cause

Version 2023.1: This known issue is caused the zooming feature of a web browser.

Version: 2025.1 and 2025.2: The issue was caused by sending a floating-point value to a field expecting an integer, which caused the POST request to fail.  

Resolution

Version 2023.1

 

  1. Ensure that no other tabs are open when you are editing a different job or policy.
  2. Verify that the page zoom in your web browser is set to the default value of 100%. If it’s not, reset it to the default.
  3. If the issue persists, try using a dynamic selection of nodes (Policy).
  4. If the problem continues, investigate potential environmental factors by testing the operation on a different browser or device.
  5. If the issue occurs across multiple browsers or machines, rebuild the SolarWinds Platform Website. For instructions, see Rebuild the SolarWinds Platform Website.

Version: 2025.1 and 2025.2

  • Upgrade to 2025.2.1 to address this issue.
