The Orion web summary page does not load, but menu bars load.

The Orion Web Console load with unexpected website error then main page does not show. However the setting in License Manager loads just fine.

Overview

The Orion Web Console displays an Unexpected Error Message and the web pages are inaccessible.

When checking the OrionWeb.log (C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\Logs\Orion) file, the following error is found:

ERROR ASP.global_asax - (null) Application_Error(6accea3c37b94459aa6573d920cecf8b)
System.Configuration.SettingsPropertyNotFoundException: The settings property 'APM.ApmSummaryViewID' was not found.

Cause

  • Evaluation license expired.
  • Corrupted SAM files.

Resolution

  1. Go to the Control Panel.
  2. Right-click SolarWinds SAM and select Repair.
  3. Wait for the Configuration Wizard to automatically run after the repair.
  4. Run the Permission Checker Tool and set folder permissions.
  5. Open the Orion Web Console to verify the issue has been resolved.
  6. Activate the SAM license if all the above steps did not help.
