WPM Playback Player service stops

The WPM Playback Player service stops and transactions will not run. Error: FATAL SolarWinds.SEUM.Agent.Service.AgentService - Error starting service. System.InvalidOperationException: Agent service is unable to operate without available worker user accounts. Or Error: Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer.

Overview

The WPM Playback Player service stops and transactions will not run.

There are 2 possible errors you might receive that can be found in the AgentService.log log found in the (C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\Logs\SEUM) folder.

FATAL SolarWinds.SEUM.Agent.Service.AgentService - Error starting service. System.InvalidOperationException: Agent service is unable to operate without available worker user accounts.

ERROR SolarWinds.SEUM.Agent.WorkerProcessManagement.WorkerProcessManager - Error creating user account for Agent.System.DirectoryServices.AccountManagement.PrincipalOperationException: Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer.

Resolution

Add the Worker Users to the Local Administrators group

  1. On the Player server, go to Computer Management > Local Users and Groups > Groups
  2. Double-click the Administrators then click Add
  3. Click the Locations to set it to the local computer (select the computer name). Then click Ok
  4. Click Advanced > Find Now
  5. Select all the SEUM users and click Ok
  6. Save changes

 

Delete and Recreate the Users

If the issue persists, you may easily recreate the local user account by deleting and restarting services. This is harmless and no information is lost in the process.
  1. Go to Control Panel > Users Accounts > Manage User Accounts.
  2. Delete all SEUM-usersXXX.
  3. Restart the WPM Playback Player service.
