The minimum requirement that SolarWinds supports for WMI access to a server is a local administrator user on the target machine. This doesn't have to be a domain user or a domain administrator, just an administrator on the target machine. You can use a domain user that has local administrator permissions.
If you chose that you do not want to use a local administrator user you can create a least privileged WMI user.
Note: The setup of this user isn't supported by SolarWinds and is something that you would need to get assistance with from Microsoft if you choose to go this route. Also during troubleshooting with SolarWinds you may be asked to provide Administrator permissions temporarily while the issue is being resolved.
