Overview
Virtual Machines indicate the incorrect node as their host node.
Product section
Cause
If a VM has the same IP address or MAC address as an existing node, it will be associated with that node, and not with the currently polled node, with the result that the VM will be mapped to the incorrect node.
Resolution
- Navigate to Hyper-V Manager > Virtual Network Manager > MAC Address Range.
- Modify the overlapping MAC address ranges. For information about the recommended range of MAC addresses on a Hyper-V host, see the Microsoft KB article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2804678
- Restart the affected VM to make sure that it picks up the new, corrected MAC address.
