Write permissions are needed to make changes on a device through the Orion Platform.

Resolution

If write permissions on a VNQM device are revoked, all functions will continue to operate normally except for IPSLA operations.

Two workarounds exist:

  1. IPSLA operations can be created manually on the device and nodes can be manually added as an IPSLA-capable node.
  2. Write permission can be temporarily added to the AXL or CLI permission being used when a new IPSLA operation is created.

Write permissions can always be revoked after the Orion Platform has created the IPSLA op. This will have no impact on the existing IPSLA operation.
