VMAN 8.3 Feature: vSAN monitoring

vSAN monitoring is a new feature in VMAN 8.3. vSAN monitoring capability is now integrated seemlessly into your VMAN environment, adding vSAN information to the Virtualization Summary and Virtual Cluster details page and making vSAN metrics available to AppStack and PerfStack and adding the ability to create alerts from vSAN-specific data. Included are some new vSAN-specific widgets that you can add to your views, that let you see vSAN information like virtual host resynchronization status.

Resolution

Gain even further insight into your virtual environment by being able to correlate application performance with vSAN cluster and datastore resource utilization metrics like read/write IOPS and latency as well as other metrics over time.

Compare metrics

Use the Performance Analyzer  (PerfStackTM) to graphically compare vSAN and other polled data.

New vSAN widgets

Have clear visibility into which virtual machines are actively undergoing vSAN resynchronization.

Create alerts from vSAN data

Use the Virtual SAN alert category when creating alert conditions to create the vSAN metric based alerts for clusters and datastores.

Include vSAN details in custom reports

Build reports that include vSAN data along with any other metric that VMAN monitors.

When to use this feature?

Use this feature to add greater capability to your day-to-day monitoring visibility from VMAN, making it an even better all-in-one virtual monitoring solution.

If you're using vSAN in your virtual environment, vSAN monitoring gives you another tool to help troubleshoot application performance issues.
