This article describes how WPM can be used with domain accounts to give recordings appropriate privileges when played back in a domain environment.  If the domain account is not given proper permissions, the following error message will occur:

Notes:

  • The number of domain accounts needed is based on the numWorkerProcessesentry in SolarWinds.SEUM.Agent.Service.exe.config. The default on the main Orion server is 2 workers and on remote players, the default is 7.  
  • The domain account must have login permissions for the machine where the WPM Player is running.
  • These steps may vary in different versions of WPM.
  • Increase WPM worker processes

In version 2.0 onwards:

  1. Browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\SEUM\Player.
  2. Right click on SolarWinds.SEUM.AgentDomainConfigurationTool.exe and select "Run as administrator".
  3. Select the Enable domain accounts for playbacks
  4. Complete the "Domain name:" field with the FQDN of the domain.
  5. Add the user accounts (Do not include the domain in this field) and passwords.
  6. When all entries are complete, click "Save".
