Use Secure LDAP in Serv-U

Overview

Active Directory authentication through LDAP Authentication is supported in Serv-U MFT. This is not supported with FTP licenses.

Secure LDAP is also available for Serv-U MFT when installed in a Windows server. Secure LDAP is not supported in Serv-U MFT installed on Linux servers.

Lastly, Secure LDAP is only available with Serv-U versions 15.1.6 and above.

Resolution

- Access the Serv-U Management Console
- Go to Domains > Users
- Go to LDAP Authentication tab
- Click Add LDAP server or edit an existing LDAP server entry
- Make sure to use the FQDN of the AD server instead of the IP address in the server host information
- Tick the "Use secure LDAP" (port will automatically change to 636)
- Save
