Unsupported browser message displayed on specific websites

WPM Recorder displays the message "Unsupported browser" when attempting to record a website that does browser detection. We are very sorry but <sitename> will not work with your browser.

WPM Recorder displays the following message when attempting to record a website that does browser detection.

Cause

The code that the website is using is not properly interpreting the response from the WPM Recorder's internal browser thus displaying the incompatibility warning.

Resolution

It is suggested to try changing the browser emulation that WPM is using.

Open Registry Editor (Start > Run: regedit).
Go to HKLM\SOFWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\InternetExplorer\Main\FeatureControl\Feature_Browser_EMULATION.
Change the values for the following items:
SolarWinds.SEUM.Agent.Worker.exe
SolarWinds.SEUM.Recorder.exe to a different value.
You may use valid values found in Internet Feature Controls.
If the decimal values 10000 or 10001 (for IE 10) does not work, try a decimal value of 8888, which is IE 8 and the earliest version that does not have Enterprise support, and should be the most generally compatible.

Note: Monitor all transactions that are playing to make sure that they are not affected as this setting will affect all transactions on that player. Consider creating a specific player location for playing back recordings against the website in question.
