Cause

The Certificate was removed during troubleshooting the other issues with the SolarWinds Information Service (SWIS) crashing.

Make sure you are able to see the SolarWinds-Orion certificate on the primary server as below. 

  • Start > MMC > File > Add / Remove > Add Certificate > Local Computer.

Resolution

Re-create the Solarwinds-Orion Certificate do the steps below,

  1. Run mmc (e.g. from the Start menu).
  2. File menu > Add/Remove Snap-in....
  3. Select "Certificates" in the left pane and then click Add.
  4. Select "Computer account" (for Local computer) then click Next, click Finish, click OK.
  5. Select the SolarWinds-Orion certificate and export it and the private key just in case you need it, after that delete the SolarWinds-Orion certificate.
    1. Do to remove any other Certificate as it can cause issues.
  6. Run the Configuration Wizard selecting only Services, and run through and it will recreate the SolarWinds-Orion certificate.
  7. Go to path C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\.
  8. Add a permission for "Everyone".
  9. Give Full permission to "Everyone" on all the folders inside RSA folder.
  10. Run the Configuration Wizard.
  11. Choose Services and run the Configuration Wizard until completed.
