Cause
The Certificate was removed during troubleshooting the other issues with the SolarWinds Information Service (SWIS) crashing.
Make sure you are able to see the SolarWinds-Orion certificate on the primary server as below.
- Start > MMC > File > Add / Remove > Add Certificate > Local Computer.
Resolution
Re-create the Solarwinds-Orion Certificate do the steps below,
- Run mmc (e.g. from the Start menu).
- File menu > Add/Remove Snap-in....
- Select "Certificates" in the left pane and then click Add.
- Select "Computer account" (for Local computer) then click Next, click Finish, click OK.
- Select the SolarWinds-Orion certificate and export it and the private key just in case you need it, after that delete the SolarWinds-Orion certificate.
- Do to remove any other Certificate as it can cause issues.
- Run the Configuration Wizard selecting only Services, and run through and it will recreate the SolarWinds-Orion certificate.
- Go to path C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\.
- Add a permission for "Everyone".
- Give Full permission to "Everyone" on all the folders inside RSA folder.
- Run the Configuration Wizard.
- Choose Services and run the Configuration Wizard until completed.
