Orion Platform

Cause

Connection to the SQL Server was lost causing a plugin to fail.

This could potentially be the case with any plugin and not just VIM.

Resolution

  1. Restart the Module Engine Service as per the article: How to Start, Stop, or Restart Orion Services with the Orion Service Manager in Orion Platform
  2. Check the BusinesLayerHost.log (C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\Logs\Orion) to make sure all plugins are loaded successfully.
  3. Re-test the Network Discovery wizard.
If the issue persists, try the following:
  • On Orion server, go to Control Panel > Programs and Features.
  • Repair SolarWinds Integrated Virtual Infrastructure Monitor (IVIM) or Virtual Infrastructure Monitor (VIM)
  • Follow the onscreen instruction to complete the Configuration Wizard.
