The following format below displays what format should the location on a Cisco device be configured. NPM calls out to mapquest API so any format can be used as seen in the example below:

  • Make sure that http://open.mapquestapi.com/ is allowed on your firewall or proxy rules.
  • Compare the latitude and longitude from database and Map Quest site:
    • Access the WorldMapPoints table and take note of the latitude and longitude.
    • Use the URL below and go to the section “Geocode Options Sample” to manually generate the latitude and longitude: http://open.mapquestapi.com/geocoding/#locations.
  • Use a third-party site to reverse the Geocode by inputting the latitude and longitude, then compare the address generated:  http://www.gps-coordinates.net/.
  • Any issues with Map Quest cannot be resolved by SolarWinds since this is a third-party free service.
