Once SNMP has been enabled, the node may be either added to SolarWinds as an SNMP node, or if the node is already added as ICMP, the polling method may be changed to SNMP.
Add an SNMP Node
- Login to the SolarWinds Web Console.
- Navigate to Settings > Manage Nodes > Add Node.
- Add the node's hostname or IP, select SNMP for the polling method and add the required details for either SNMPv2c or SNMPv3.
- Complete the Add Node Wizard and confirm the node is added and polling as expected.
Edit an existing node
- Login to the SolarWinds Web Console.
- Navigate to Settings > Manage Nodes and select the check box next to the name of the existing node.
- Select Edit Properties, and change the polling method to SNMP.
- Add the SNMP port and string and submit the change.
