Unable to add a DHCP server in another domain
This article addresses an issue that prevents you from adding a DHCP server to a domain. Because the server is not in a domain, the following error message displays: "The user name or password is incorrect."

Overview
The DHCP server is not under a domain. When you try to add the server to a domain, the following error message displays:
The user name or password is incorrect
However, RDP is working correctly with the same credentials.

Cause
The Orion and DCHP servers are on different domains, preventing you from establishing a domain trust.
Resolution
- Log in to the Orion Platform server.
- Create a local user on the DHCP server in the Local Admin group.
- Create a local user with the same user name and password as the user you created on the DHCP server.
Be sure to enter just the user name in the credential without a domain or local computer designation. - Add the user to the Local Admin group.
