Overview

By design, UDT 2025.4 already supports gMSA "UDT 2025.4 release notes"

When a Domain Controller node is added using a gMSA account, the node is added successfully and initial connectivity is established. However, when the same gMSA credentials are later configured and tested within UDT, the credential validation test fails.

Observed behavior:

  • Adding the node:
    Domain Controller is added successfully using gMSA.

  • Testing credentials in UDT:
    gMSA credential test fails during validation.

This results in an inconsistency where gMSA works for node addition but not for credential testing within UDT.

Development has confirmed that in UDT version 2025.4.1, the gMSA domain\username$ format is not supported.

This limitation is expected to be resolved in an upcoming release. Follow this article for updates.
