Cause

When NPM polls the device via SNMP for OID 1.3.6.1.4.1 (the sysobjectID used to identify objects), the Ubiquiti returns a value of 100002, which is the sysobjectID publicly registered to FrogFootNetworks. This can be verified using the link:

With each release, all ID numbers are compiled in the above link into the SWDiscovery.cfg file in C:\Program Files\Solarwinds\.

Resolution

  • There are a few ways to approach this problem.  If, in fact, this is an oversight on Ubiquiti's part, you might first want to reach out to their support to confirm whether they intended to report the sysobjectID as shown above and let them know that it most likely needs to be changed to something like:
