UDT 2026.2 Compatibility checker is broken

This article confirms a new known issue in UDT 2026.2 Compatibility Checker. Users cannot complete Layer2 and Layer3 checks for a node.

Overview

The UDT Compatibility Checker fails to complete Layer 2 and Layer 3 checks against a node, returning the error Completed with status: error (Cannot change the name of the DataSet to an empty string).

Error:

Completed with status: error (Cannot change the name of the DataSet to an empty string)

ERROR - System.ArgumentException: Cannot change the name of the DataSet to an empty string.

Cause

This has been identified as a known issue in UDT 2026.2.

Resolution

A fix for this issue is planned for a future UDT release.

As of August 13, 2026, there are no available workarounds. Watch this article for updates.
