Troubleshoot Orion Remote Collector
When you assign an Orion Remote Collector (ORC) to poll a node that is polling unsupported technologies, such as F5 iControl, Cisco ACI Controller, or Palo Alto polling, or enable unsupported technologies on a node polled by an ORC, polling fails. To resolve the issue, disable the polling of unsupported technologies on nodes polled by ORCs.

Overview
Unsupported technologies include F5 iControl polling, Cisco ACI Controller polling, or Palo Alto polling. For details, see Orion Remote Collector Support.
Note: The ORC feature was introduced in Orion Platform 2020.2.1 and requires NAM 2020.2.1.

Cause
When you change the polling engine to an Orion Remote Collector, some controls, such as Palo Alto Polling or Cisco ACI Polling, stay available until you click Submit, even though they are not supported for ORCs.
If you select an ORC as a polling engine, keep these controls enabled and click Submit, the polling fails. You don't see the extra controls on the Edit Node page anymore, but they stay enabled.
Resolution
- On a Node Details page, click Edit Node in the Management widget.
- On Edit Node Properties, change the Polling Engine to another polling engine that is not Orion Remote Collector and click Submit.
- Back on the Node Details page, click Edit Node node again. Additional controls will be displayed.
- To disable polling for unsupported technologies, clear the appropriate box.
- For Cisco ACI, clear the Poll for Cisco ACI box.
- For Cisco ASA or Cisco Nexus devices, clear the Enable CLI Polling box.
- For F5, clear the Poll for F5 iControl box.
- For Palo Alto devices, clear the Poll for Palo Alto box.
- For Meraki organizations, change Polling method to SNMP.
- Change the polling engine back to the Orion Remote Collector and click Submit.
