Troubleshoot miscellaneous FTP issues

This article will go over resolving an issue with an FTP server when the CUCM and Orion/ VNQM configurations have been verified.

Overview

Once the Orion/ VNQM and CUCM servers have been ruled out, you will want to troubleshoot issues with the FTP server. Especially if the FTP server does not have a standard setup.

While this article is VNQM focused, it may help some NCM users.

Cause

Bad configuration or settings on FTP server.

Resolution

Test using different FTP server.
Install the test FTP server on the Main Orion Polling server.
It is recommended to test using the default SolarWinds FTP or WINSCP applications.

If issue is resolved after switching FTP servers, consider using this FTP server instead.
If this resolution is not preferred, troubleshoot further variables to see what may be causing issues on the old FTP server.
