Cause
- The issue caused by the MIBs.cfg file missing from the C:\programdata\solarwinds directory. Beginning in 2025.2, this would be a MIBs.db file.
Resolution
If you are running SolarWinds Platform 2025.2 or newer, perform the below:
- Verify if the current MIBs.db file is in the directory at C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds. If it is not, download it from the customer portal.
- Log in to the SolarWinds Customer Portal.
- Click Downloads > Orion MIB Database.
- Choose the msi for 2025.2 download option. The MIB database starts downloading.
- Run the downloaded msi to install the MIB database.
- Restart the trap service affected.
- ERROR should no longer appear in system events.

If you are running SolarWinds Platform 2025.1 or older, perform the below:
1.Verify and Download the current MIBs.cfg file, more information here if missing
2. Place in the following parent directory C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds (hidden directory by default) on any polling engine here the trap service is failing. (make sure the latest MIBs.cfg file is placed on every polling engine)
3. Restart the trap service affected.
4. ERROR should no longer appear in system events.
