Overview

The following error message appears when accessing the Orion Web Console:

This channel can no longer be used to send messages as the output session was auto-closed due to a server-initiated shutdown. Either disable auto-close by setting the DispatchRuntime.AutomaticInputSessionShutdown to false, or consider modifying the shutdown protocol with the remote server.

Network Performance Monitor

Cause

The  DispatchRuntime.AutomaticInputSessionShutdown is a part of .Net framework.

This error is caused by an excessive number of concurrent calls or sessions to IIS and restarting IIS would reset this but this may not be a permanent solution to the issue. This may also be due to the WCF caching being overloaded by too much data.

Resolution

  1. Turn off automatic root certificates update  to improve web site performance, particularly if the server does not have a good internet connection.
  2. Run an IISRESET from the Command Prompt or click Restart from the IIS Manager Application Pool > Sites > SolarWInds NetPerfMon.
