Overview

This article provides troubleshooting steps that will help you to further isolate the cause of false alerts or incorrect Status being reported by some Wireless Access Points currently being monitoring in you Solarwinds Environment.

Cause

  • Thin AP incorrect status 
  • False Alerts for Thin AP 
  • AP is down however is showing UP under in Orion Wireless Controller node
  • Number of APs are incorrect
  • Number of Wireless Client Count
  • Unable to add wireless heat map poller to Cisco WLC
  • After migrating the AP's to the new WLC the APs are still present on the old WLC
  • Unable to see AP's status after upgrading firmware on Wireless Controller

The First step is to understand and learn How NPM is polling Wireless details from Wireless Controllers.
