Overview

By following the steps from this article, you will be able to see all related information and folders below the level 8 in the File Server scanned resource.

Product section

Access Rights Manager

Cause

In the ARM File Server scans, by default, you have the limitation that from a depth of 8 and on, only different rights will be reported.
This also means that if the access rights are the same as on the folder above, you will not be able to expand this view and drill into this folder from the ARM Client and resource view.

Resolution

To solve this and to have the ability to expand deeper into the folder structure, we need to adjust the File Server configuration.

To do so, please follow these steps:
  1. Open ARM Configuration client
  2. Open Scans
  3. Find the scan that you want to change and click on the "More >>" button
  4. Change the option related to this function. Please check the screenshot for the reference image.png
  5. Set it on the wanted level or on unlimited.
  6. By setting it on unlimited, the scan time can be affected depending on the File Server complexity
  7. Once set, the change is saved and you can run a new scan
After the scan is done, change will be visible from the ARM Client and the resource view.
Find your File server resource and try to drill down below level 8 and confirm this change.
