Orion Web Console shows the resource is missing error

Occasionally you may receive the below error while accessing Orion Web Console:

The "[Name]" resource is missing. The file /Orion/product/Resources[folder]/[file].ascx is not found.

NOTE: The [Name], [folder], and [file] will be different and will relate to the specific widget.

Orion Platform

There might be multiple reasons for that behavior:

1. The Legacy Syslog is still installed and is not compatible with the 2022.3 version
2. The security solution is blocking resources from the C:\inetpub folder or the file indicated in the error message
3. The file indicated may no longer exist (i.e. has been replaced by a different file during the upgrade)

RESOLUTION 1:

1. From the main dashboard 
   1. Click on Customize Page,
   2. Click on Page settings, the same location as Customize Page
   3. Look in the column sections for "Node Related Syslog Messages" and delete this item

RESOLUTION 2:

1. Check permissions using the Orion Permission Checker for the C:\inetpub folder
2. Run the Orion Configuration wizard (Website) to replace/rebuilt the missing file

RESOLUTION 2:

1. Remove and re-add the widget, you may need to find out if the name of the widget changed
   • Delete a widget from a dashboard in Orion Views
   • Add widgets to Orion Platform views, or classic dashboards
