The WS-Management service cannot process the request. The following error message is received: The remote configuration was not successful. WinRM test failed. Connecting to remote server MACHINENAME failed with the following error message : The WS-Management service cannot process the request. Cannot find the Microsoft.PowerShell session configuration in the WSMan: drive on the MACHINENAME computer. This is typically found when assigning the AppInsight for IIS or AppInsight for Exchange application templates.

Cause

Winrm is not setup or
TrustedHosts on server are not set.

Resolution

In the command line, run the following command:

Register-PSSessionConfiguration -Name Microsoft.PowerShell
