Overview

When creating a High Availability Pool you may come across this error message: "This article will show how to check the problematic/missing module version when setting up HA pools."

If so you will need to check the products and product versions to see what exactly is different.

Please follow the instructions in the resolution to address this.

Product section

Orion Platform

Cause

The HA Pool members have products and or product versions that are not the same.
This usually happens when either installing a new HA server or if you need to uninstall and reinstall either the HA server or Primary active server.

The SolarWinds Products and Product versions must match in order to create an HA Pool.

Resolution

  1. Login to Orion primary server.
  2. Open Database Manager and select NetPerfMon or SolarWinds Orion Database instance.
  3. Look for [dbo].[OrionServers] table then run query.
    • Double click the Orion Server table then click on "Execute query"
  4. Check the column "Details" (In JSON Format).
  5. Copy the Details (both for Primary HA and Secondary HA server on a notepad).
  6. Use any JSON file comparison tool ( e.g. JSON Diff).
    • You can also Notepad or Notepad++ to compare the two
  7. Compare and find what is missing or additional module/version.
  8. You will then either need to install/add a product, or product version or uninstall one.
