Overview
Syslogs are truncated even during the initial parsing.
And the default KSS NG config: " MaxSyslogMessageLength": 8192. is ignored and large incoming messages (more than 1024 bytes) are truncated.
Steps to reproduce
1. Create a log to file action in KSS NG.
2. Use Kiwi Syslog Generator's MultiLine text message to send a 2048 character message to KSS NG as Kernel.Emergency<0>.
3. Check debug logs.
Actual behavior:
The incoming syslogs are truncated if it's more than 1024 bytes.
Expected behavior:
- The full incoming syslogs should be processed.
- The ability to set the number of characters to receive (like in legacy KSS)
This issue is fixed in Kiwi Syslog NG v1.1: KSS NG 1.1 Release Notes
