Product section
Cause
- For these pages to function correctly, SSL must be set up through the SolarWinds Configuration Wizard.
- If the bindings are set up to use one IP Address instead of All Unassigned, the pages may not be loaded properly.
- The SolarWinds Administration Service could be stopped, hung, or not installed on the Main Polling Engine
Resolution
Initial 5 min, Check Points:
(Before any change, take notes from the actual status on your settings, that will help you to roll over if is required)
- All services should be up (Administration Service, is the one that has an important role on this page)
- Validate Bindings SSL
- Validate the Certificate in use by your bindings on SSL. (Only required if you are using SSL HTTPS)
- Validate SolarWinds Platform Database - Table: Websites and information should match the IIS Bindings, (If the environment has High Availability or Additional Web Servers, it could have additional rows)
- Validate SolarWinds Platform Database - Table: Engines and IP should be the Primary for the Engine.
- Validate SolarWinds Platform Database - Table: OrionServers if the SWAKeepAlive is updated or not
- DNS Resolution should resolve by IP / Hostname / FQDN
- Check if the Host Name resolves to an IPv6 Address (this can cause an issue)
- If the SolarWinds Platform Server does not have DNS, validate the Host File
Resolution 1:
Administration Service:

- Open SolarWinds Platform Service Manager on the Main Polling Engine.
- If stopped, start the SolarWinds Administration Service. If started, restart the SolarWinds Administration service.
- If the SolarWinds Administration Service is missing, install it from C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\Installers
Resolution 2:
- Check the version of the installed SolarWinds Administration Service.
- If it's not the correct version, uninstall the SolarWinds Administration Service from Control Panel and re-install it.
- Go to C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\Installers
- Look for installer SWA-<versionnumber>-AdministrationService.msi > Install
Note: Auto Update of SolarWinds Administration Service in online environments

Resolution 3:
To correct SSL bindings:
- Rerun the Configuration Wizard
- On the Website Settings page, select Enable HTTPS.
- When the Configuration Wizard is finished, restart the SolarWinds Administration Service using the SolarWinds Platform Service Manager tool.
- If the issue persists:
- Edit the IIS HTTPS binding, remove any hostname you may have set from the Hostname field as per the screenshot
- Perform IISRESET in CMD as administrator.
- Check again to see if the issue has been resolved.
To check the website bindings:
- Open Internet Information Services Manager
- Expand the server and the websites.
- Take note of the bindings of each website and if they are started. If another website, often the default website, is running on the same port as the SolarWinds Platform website:
- Stop the other website.
- Edit the bindings for the SolarWinds website.
- Set the IP address to All Unassigned.
- Click OK, click Yes for the warning, click Close, and restart the website.
