Product section
Task Factory (TF)
Resolution
When the configuration of the Task is correct and even the Connection Manager itself is configured correctly, there will be times when the user may encounter the error above. Why would this error occur?
The answer will actually not be found modifying the Task Factory component in anyway. This issue stems from the Protection Level of the SSIS Package itself.
Have the user open up the properties tab of the Control Flow within SSIS.
Within the Control Flow Property tab there is a section for “Security”. It is within this field the user will be able to set the Protection Level.
More than likely the user is encountering this error because the Protection Level is set to “DontSaveSensitive”. When the protection level is set to this value, Connection Managers containing Usernames and Passwords will have those values (sensitive values) stripped from the Connection Manager because the package is literally being told, “Don’t save the sensitive information in these fields.”
The user can configure this field to “EncryptSensitiveWithPassword” or “EncryptSensitiveWithUserKey” and the issue will be resolved.
If the user requests further assistance on how to configure this field, they can visit the following link which details this information: https://kwoodstechtalk.wordpress.com/2014/11/03/how-to-set-ssis-encryption-level-protection-within-visual-studios-2012/
