Task Factory License Manager Application does not have license and not working alert message
The SolarWinds License Manager may need to be reset to successfully activate a license after an upgrade. The steps below will guide you through this process.

Overview
The SWI License Manager will either display no licenses or return an error when launching, stating "No licensed SolarWinds applications were found on this computer." (Note: this applies to SWI License Managers on version 4, as shown in the lower right. Any versions higher than this will have no effect using these resolution steps.)

Cause
The rebranded SWI License Manager can become corrupted during installation or upgrade due to a faulty assembly and requires a reset. It can also be caused by not removing the SentryOne-branded version of Task Factory before installing the SolarWinds version.
Resolution
Resolution Steps:
- Exit the License Manager, and run the license reset utility.
- Here is the download for the reset utility: https://downloads.solarwinds.com/solarwinds/Support/LicenseReset.zip
- The Password is: burn/purify
- If you run the License Manager again, you will see no complaints.
- Open CMD as Administrator.
- Run the command to change directories. Depending on the version, the path may have changed from Program Files (x86) to Program Files.
- cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Solarwinds\Task Factory\Licensing
- cd C:\Program Files\Solarwinds\Task Factory\Licensing
- Run the following commands to reset the software to a trial version. Depending on the version, the file name may have changed.
- Licensing\PragmaticWorks.TaskFactory.Licensing.exe initialize
- PragmaticWorks.TaskFactory.Licensing.exe initialize
- After running commands, open Solarwinds License Manager and ensure the software has reverted to the trial version.
- If the issue is fixed, activate the license.
- If the issue persists, repeat the entire process.
